Nike and England Netball to grow female sport participation in the UK

Tuesday 27th November 2018

Nike and England Netball today announced the beginning of a multi-year partnership covering the elite women’s team and all of their 3,000 clubs across England. The agreement makes Nike the official partner of England Netball for the first time, to design and supply on- and off-court kit for the England Vitality Roses during their international Netball competitions, including the World Cup 2019.

Today’s announcement cements Nike as both England Netball’s supplier and strategic partner to support the continued growth of the game in the UK. With over 1.4 Million women and girls playing Netball during a season, it’s the biggest female participation sports in the country.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with England Netball”, says David Carmont, VP/GM, Nike EMEA/WEST, “Netball is one of the most participated female sports in the UK and it’s time to acknowledge athletes* playing it. We are committed to using our global voice to elevate Netball athletes and inspire girls and women in England to play more.”

Joanna Adams, CEO of England Netball, says: “England Netball and Nike have the shared vision of empowering women and girls in sport and we hope that together we can support the Vitality Roses on their journey to becoming the top-ranked netball team in the world.”

“We are confident that together we will ignite a powerful and inspiring Netball culture and make the Netball World Cup 2019 a celebration of female sports”, she explains further.

The Vitality Roses will debut the Nike performance kit during the three-match Vitality Netball International Series against Uganda from 27th November to 2nd December.
